Happy New Year

As some of you know I am more comfortable with the Julian calendar which celebrates the new year on March 25th.

My house was built when the Julian calendar was still in use and I like the less complicated way of life that exists in the 17th century.

My garden is happier with plants that would have been grown then and the herbs and cottage garden flora flourish while new varieties fade away even without the aid of the dog.

So, Happy New Year to you all. I’m just off to sharpen my quill and stroke the obligatory black cat.

I am enjoying my retirement by writing. My favourite genres are science fiction and horror and I have have had some success with my short stories. I began reading Ray Bradbury while still at school and became besotted with Dr Who from the first moment I watched the programme back in November 1963. Each incarnation is my favourite until the next one but I have to admit to preferring Matt Smith's version to any other. My specialist subject on Mastermind would most likely be 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy'.
